So, The Sims Social was only temporarily live for just over 6 hours on and off before Playfish took down the servers to gather information and review the data received to hopefully fix the few connection niggles people were having. EA have informed us not to worry and The Sims Social will be back up 'VERY SOON!'


Did you get to play? We did, and we loved it! Please don't dispel the game yet. It's turning into a case of everyone pressuring for a release date and then once it's released players complain about bugs. We understand it's frustrating, however we know over 1 million The Sims Social fans were trying to connect to the servers all at once, which caused problems. When it returns it should be bug free.


'The Sims Social is currently in Open Beta, which means we're calibrating and fine-tuning to ensure you will have the best playing experience possible. Please bear with us while we fix some of the issues that some of you have been having, during which time the game may be unavailable from time-to-time. Rest assured that we will not be resetting the game during this maintenance period, so you won’t lose any progress, SimCash or relationships that you have built up so far.'
